現地時間2019年11月22日（金）21時頃、2019年に全国ツアー「B’z LIVE-GYM 2019 -Whole Lotta NEW LOVE-」などでB’zのサポートドラマーを務めたブライアンティッシー(Brian Tichy)さんが所属するハードロックバンド「Silverthorne」のFacebookページが更新され、ブライアンさんが保有するスタジオで前日・11月21日（木）夜に火災が発生したことが明らかにされました。
「Silverthorne」のFacebookページでは、『Fire at Brian Tichy / Silverthorne Studio House.』というタイトルの記事が更新され、またブライアンさん自身もFacebookやTwitter、Instagramで情報を発信。ファンの方々からは今回起こった悲劇に対してお見舞いの声が数多く寄せられています。

ブライアンティッシーさんのスタジオ火災は現地時間11月21日（木）夜に起こった模様です。
（また今回の記事でスタジオの場所は明かされていませんが、2019年8月の海外での音楽インタビューで自身のスタジオを”ロサンゼルス郊外の広大な峡谷にあるスタジオ”と語られているため、今回の火災も米・ロサンゼルス郊外にあるスタジオで起こったものではないかと推測されます。）
「Silverthorne」ドラムスのブライアンティッシー（Brian Tichy）さんとヴォーカルのピート・ショルダー（Pete Shoulder）さんが外出中に、スタジオにおいてあった乾燥機（外出前に起動していた）から出火したものと思われます。
火は6台の消防車によって消し止められ、その後乾燥機の置かれていた場所以外にもスタジオ全体の壁、床、天井が煙や熱によって損傷していることが発覚。さらにブライアンさんの楽器やレコーディング機材は全てこのスタジオに備えられており、その全てが同様に煙と熱でダメージを受けましたが、ドラムセットの一部、数本のギターなどは復旧・演奏が可能であるということが明らかになりました。またコントロールルームとして使用していた寝室部分も損傷しましたが録音機材は無事だったということです。そしてさらに段ボール詰めで地面に置かれていたという彼らのアルバム『Their Silverthorne EP』は無傷であり、ライブグッズである『Silverthorne Tシャツ』も無事だったということが明らかになっています。

Fire at Brian Tichy / Silverthorne Studio House.
As much as we’d like to be able to start this off and say this happened because the band was burnin’ it up in rehearsal, it’s a bit too soon for jokes…
Last night as Silverthorne drummer Brian Tichy and singer Pete Shoulder left Tichy’s studio house to run some errands before coming back to load up the gear for their first show the next night in Las Vegas at Count’s Vamp’d, the property owners who live behind, called Tichy and said there’s a fire in his house.
Tichy and Shoulder were 10 minutes away and immediately raced back. Tichy couldn’t figure out how a fire had started, and then Pete says, “the dryer”… Tichy had turned it on for 25 minutes just before leaving to run the errands. They pulled up to about 6 firetrucks that had the situation under control.
What they now had to wait to find out was, how much damage….
Minutes later the firemen come walking out carrying a torched and blackened dryer.
(And one of them, soon after, proceeded to attempt to lighten up the mood with the comment, “hey, at least your clothes are dry”, and everyone had to let out a chuckle or two as it was joke that someone was inevitably going to say… )
Outside of the laundry area being on fire, there is extensive top to bottom, front to back heat and smoke damage to all the walls, ceilings and floors. The degree of that is unknown as there was no power and the guys were advised not to turn it on until it was checked out the next day.
All TIchy’s musical equipment and recording gear is at this studio. Even though everything has smoke and heat damage, some gear was salvageable and playable; like the drums in the front closet in cases, and the few guitars in the rehearsal living room. The bedroom used as the control room had severe heat and smoke damage but the fire didn’t get to the recording gear. Because they had to leave for their Vegas gig the next morning all they could do was gather up some of the equipment they needed and put it outside to air out and hopefully get rid of the thick smell of smoke and burned walls and items.
The next morning the guys rented a trailer and went back and started going through the wreckage to load up for their first show.
Their Silverthorne EP’s were luckily in thick cardboard boxes on the ground, and unharmed. Their Silverthorne T-shirts are also ok, but smell like “a fireplace in a log cabin in the thick of winter” said Tichy. He also said, “if you buy a shirt tonight, you are literally getting one hot item that survived a fire and has the smell to prove it. This might be the most unique merch item we ever have!”The guys are a bit frazzled, but managed to gather up enough working gear and make it to Count’s Vamp’d for load in and sound check.
If you come to the show tonight and somehow start to feel as if you are in a log cabin due to the smell, now you know why.
Tichy said, “this totally sucks but it could have been 10x’s worse. I hope some of my stuff isn’t trashed; mainly my hard drives as we have a new Silverthorne LP in the works.
Some of the drum kits were burned but some weren’t. How many drum kits does one man need? As long as a Marshall, a Les Paul, a Ludwig kit and my hard drives are ok, then I can still continue rocking! And what lesson did I learn? Shit, I’m still trying to figure that one out. Maybe “dry clothes aren’t so important?
Don’t buy cheap ass used dryers? No, because I left another old cheap ass one in my old house and it was fine for 20 years. So, uh, maybe, shit happens and sometimes it’s in front of you on the path you happen to be walking? Maybe. Maybe, “what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger?” I don’t know..
What I know is I’ll sort it out Monday after Silverthorne rocks Vamp’d tonight and The Viper Room Sunday. I ain’t letting this get in the way of our good fun and debut shows.
I’m hitting the stage and throwing down with no excuses on a drum set that reeks of the fire it was just in and the residue from said fire is still all over all the gear we brought with us!
Yeah, we talked about covering Van Halen’s “On Fire” tonight or KISS’s “Firehouse” but we a bit too “burnt” to learn another song.

「Silverthorne」初ライブ前夜の出来事にメンバー唖然 しかし”TシャツとCDを買って！”と気丈に振る舞う
また今回の火災は、「Silverthorne」初のライブが22日（金）に米・ラスベガス（Count’s Vamp’d）で行われる前夜の出来事でした。
メンバーは翌朝にはラスベガスのショーのために出発しなければならなかったため、火事で焼けたスタジオから必要な機材を集めて外に出しておき、煙や匂いを取り除いてから翌朝にトレーラーに積み込み、ショーに出掛けたということです。
Facebookの投稿ではブライアンさんが”今回の出来事での教訓が分からない…”と幾つかの冗談を交えながら自身の心境を吐露しつつも、”マーシャル、レスポール、ラディックのドラムキット、ハードディスクドライブがあればロックし続けることができる”と気丈にコメント。
さらに「今夜ショーに来て、匂いのせいで丸太小屋にいるような気分になり始めたら、その理由がわかるね」「Van Halenの『On Fire』やKISSの『Firehouse』を今夜カバーしようかとメンバーと話し合ったけどもう1曲練習するには”燃え尽き”すぎた」などと冗談を続け、それ以降のライブを予定通りに行うことをファンに対して前向きに告知されました。
ちなみに会場では火災で無事だった『Silverthorne Tシャツ』と『Their Silverthorne EP』が販売される予定とのことで、ブライアンさんは「今夜Tシャツを買うと、文字通り、火事の中を生き残り、またそれを証明する匂いをも纏ったホットなアイテムを手に入れることになる。これは我々が今まで持っている中で最もユニークな商品アイテムかもしれない！」とコメントし、「『Silverthorne Tシャツ』と『Their Silverthorne EP』を買って！」と告知されています。
なお「Silverthorne」は24日（日）にも米・ロサンゼルス（The Viper Room）で公演を行い、さらに最新シングルとミュージックビデオ「Black River Rising」を翌25日（月）に公開するということです。
